Wife of BJP MLA Who Lost his Life in Naxalite Attack filed Nomination to Contest Elections

Ojasvi Mandavi, wife of BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi, who lost his life in a Naxalite attack on April 9 in Dantewada, has filed his first part of nomination as a BJP candidate for the upcoming by-election in Dantewada on Monday.

Ojasvi Mandavi said that I will do my best to prepare and win the election. She said that she would start her campaign from Shyamagiri area where Naxalites killed my husband. I want to fulfill his dream of working for the welfare of the people here.

Bhima Mandavi was a Bharatiya Janata Party politician and member of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly from Dantewada assembly constituency. He was assassinated by naxalites belonging to the Communist Party of India (Maoist) in Nakulnar village of Dantewada district in the state of Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel said Bheema Mandavi would be alive had he listened to the police. "But he did not heed his advice sent the DRG force back. He went out without giving prior information."
