With this, options for a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox will be available. Like other Maruti cars, the diesel engine will no longer be available in the S-Cross. This means that, where earlier the S-Cross was just a diesel model, it will now only be a petrol model.

Maruti's new S-Cross petrol will be launched in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. However, the automatic gearbox will be found in the top three variants, that is, there will be no automatic option in the Sigma variant. The BS-4 model had a full range of S-Crosses with Suzuki's mild-hybrid technology. At the same time, the petrol model will now only get a mild-hybrid system in the automatic version.
