Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza pulls out of the Australian Open due to calf injury. She came out to play today in the first match of doubles with her Ukraine partner Nadia Kichenock. They competed against the Chinese duo of Han Xinyun and Lin Xu. But Sania was seen facing difficulty due to injury, so she decided to leave the match midway. At that time she withdrew from the match, the Chinese pair had won one set 6–2 and were 1-0 ahead in the second.

Sania has injured her right leg during practice. She was having trouble playing during the match. Sania also took a medical time out after the first set. However, even after this, she did not get rest. After losing the first game of the second set, she decided to pull out.

Earlier, Sania decided to withdraw from the mixed doubles of the Australian Open. She had to play with Rohan Bopanna. Now Bopanna will play with Nadia Kichenock of Ukraine. The Indian tennis player, who returned to the tennis court after a break of two years, won the Hobart International tournament with Nadia only last week. They both defeated the Chinese pair of Zhang-Pang Shuai 6-4,6-4.
