Heavy Response to Amazon, Flipkart: Sale of worth Rs. 18000 Cr. in 6 Days

Led by Amazon and Flipkart, e-tailers (retailers selling electronic goods through electronic transactions) have sold $ 3 billion (about Rs 21,335 crore) in just six days between September 29 and October 4. According to a report by Bangalore-based research company Redseer Consultancy, Walmart-owned Flipkart and Amazon accounted for 90 percent of these six days of sales, which means that both these companies raised more than Rs 18000 crore.

Sales will go beyond Rs. 42000 Crores

Considering the shopping that took place in the first edition of the festive season sales, it is expected that only online sales of Amazon and Flipkart can go up to six billion dollars (Rs 42,671 crore) till Diwali.

Anil Kumar, founder and CEO of RedSeer Consulting, told news agency IANS, "Despite the challenging economic environment, there has been a record three billion dollar purchases in the first round of the festive season, indicating a sharp trend in consumers towards online shopping. . '

In terms of value, Flipkart continues to be the leader of this sale with 60 to 62 per cent share in the festive season. If its affiliates Myntra and Jabong are also included, the total stake can be 63 percent.

RedSeer report said, 'Flipkart remains the leader because of its superior performance in all categories including mobiles. This is due to the best price, good EMI options and variety in selection, which has been marketed heavily to reach customers.

In terms of value, Amazon's sales have increased by 22 percent. However, according to the volume, its sales have increased by 30 percent. However, Amazon has dismissed this report. An Amazon spokesperson claims, "Amazon had the highest share of 51% of customers who transacted during the Great India Festival (28 September to 4 October). Order share stood at 42 per cent and value share at 45 per cent.

According to the report, during the festive season, mobile sales have been at the forefront of sales with more than 55 per cent share by value. This year, due to high demand from small cities and towns, there has been a lot of sales of mobile, consumer electronics, fashion products and large appliances.
