After Twitter, Now Facebook and Instagram to Charge for Blue Tick

Social Media Verification: Facebook and Instagram have also joined the Twitter race. Meta will also charge money for blue tick verification.

After launching the Twitter Blue Tick money-taking scheme in many countries of Europe, it was launched in India on 9th February.

Web Twitter users in India have to pay Rs 650 per month for Blue Tick while users running Twitter on Android and iOS mobiles have to pay Rs 900 per month.

After this announcement of Twitter, now Meta has also announced to take money for Blue Tick on Facebook and Instagram.

Right now, this scheme is starting in Australia and New Zealand. Later it will be launched in other countries of the world including India.

990 for web and 1240 rupees per month for mobile

Meta on Sunday i.e. Feb 19 announced that it is testing paid verification for Instagram and Facebook at $11.99 (Rs 990) per month for the web and $14.99 (Rs 1,240) per month for mobile.

The Founder and CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has announced that "Meta Verified" accounts will offer users a verified badge, enhanced visibility across multiple platforms, priority customer support, and other benefits.

Social Media Verification: Feature launching first in Australia and New Zealand

The new feature is set to launch in Australia and New Zealand initially, with plans to expand to additional countries in the coming months.

In an Instagram post, Zuckerberg said, "This week we're launching Meta Verified — a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, and fight against accounts claiming to be you."
