Fugitive Amritpal Singh Suspected to Be in Delhi: Reports

Amritpal Singh, the pro-Khalistani leader who is evading the police, was reportedly seen at the ISBT bus terminal in Delhi.

Based on intelligence inputs, the Delhi and Punjab police have launched a search operation in and around Delhi to track down the fugitive preacher.

According to sources cited by the news agency ANI, the police are working together to apprehend Amritpal Singh.

There are indications that he might be in disguise of a Sadhu (monk) and could be accompanied by Papalpreet Singh.

Amritpal Singh, who is accused of charges including obstructing law enforcement, inciting disharmony, and assault has been evading arrest since March 18.

On Monday i.e. March 20, the fugitive separatist Amritpal Singh was captured by a CCTV camera leaving the house of a woman who had provided him shelter in Haryana.

He was last seen there, trying to evade the police, with an umbrella shielding his face from view.

Police have arrested Baljeet Kaur, the woman who provided shelter to Amritpal Singh and his associate Papalpreet Singh in Kurukshetra.

Following reports suggesting that Amritpal Singh may have entered Delhi, the Delhi Police have been put on high alert and are monitoring his movements.

Additionally, alerts have been issued in the Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand as a precaution, in case the separatist fugitive attempts to enter the state.

On Friday, the Punjab Police released 44 individuals who were taken into preventive custody during their operation against those who were attempting to disrupt law and order in the state.

As per Sukhchain Singh Gill, Inspector General of Police (IGP) at Headquarters, a total of 207 individuals have been detained for inciting turmoil in the state.
