Tokyo Olympics LIVE: Indian Men’s Archery Team Reaches Quarter-Finals

The third day of the medal events at the Tokyo Olympics is underway. Indian men's archery team has reached the quarterfinals. In the qualification round, the Indian team made a good start by defeating Kazakhstan 6-2. In the quarter-finals, India faces a challenge from South Korea. India's Bhavani Devi is out of the medal race in fencing.

At the same time, in table tennis, Achanta Sharath Kamal has reached the third round of men's singles. The qualification round for the second day of the skeet event in the shooting has started. Meraj Ahmed Khan and Angad Veer Singh Bajwa are presenting the challenge from India's side.

After starting with a win, Bhavani lost in the second match

Bhavani Devi, the only Indian swordsman to qualify in fencing for the first time, won the first match but lost in the second. In the first match, she defeated Nadia Ben of Tunisia 15-3. In the round of 32, Bhavani was defeated 15-7 by Manon Brunet of France.

Archery team won in tough competition

In archery, India faced a tough challenge from Kazakhstan in the men's team quarter-finals. The Indian team won the first set 55-54. In this set, two scores of perfect 10 were scored from both teams. In the second set also the Indian team won by a margin of 1 point. India won this set 52-51. Kazakhstan came back strongly in the third set and took it 57-56. In the fourth set, India won the match by winning 55-54. Winning a set in archery gets 2 points. India's quarter-final match will start at 10:15 on the day.

India's Sharath Kamal has reached the third round in table tennis men's singles. He defeated Portugal 4-2 in the second round of Tiago Appolonia. The score of 6 games was 2-11, 11-8, 11-5, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9 in favor of Sharath. Now Sharath will take on the defending champion Ma Long.
