RCB knocked out from Playoffs yet Hasaranga grabs the purple cap!

Pulkit Sharma

Rajasthan Royals finally made their way to the finals after a long wait of 15 years. The Royal team didn't give a chance to let off the match of their hand and defeated RCB by 7 wickets.

Sanju Samson upon winning the toss chose to defend. Prasiddha Krishna, the alternative star of the match, proved the skipper’s decision right and made King Kohli go to the pavilion. However, RCB managed to cope with this loss and scored a partnership of 70 runs for the second wicket.

Rajat Patidar- Only fighter from RCB

Except for Rajat Patidar, the uncapped player of the season, no other batsmen stood for long on the crease for the team. Rajat, with the least support from the non-striker end, continued smashing the spin attack of Royals and scored a slow yet important knock of 58 runs in 42 balls and paved the way to the team reaching a decent target.

Jos Buttler - Century Men of the season

Jos Buttler, the orange cap holder of the season so far turn the match like hot butter on a knife through his magnificent innings. Scoring 4th cent in the season, Buttler ruined RCB’s bowling attack viciously and broke the remaining hopes of the opponent reaching to finals.

Hasranga grabs the Purple Cap

The spin attack of Rajasthan proved ineffective yesterday night. Both Ashwin and Chahal failed to hold control over the RCB batsmen. Chahal, the leading wicket-taker of the season went wicketless giving 45 runs in his spell. Hasranga on the other hand, grabbed the Purple Cap from Chahal by taking the wicket of the Skipper.

Both Chahahl and Hasranga took 26 Wickets then why was Hasranga rewarded with Purple Cap?

It must be noteworthy here that both Hasranga and Chahal had taken 26 wickets but Hasranga was awarded the Purple Cap last night. Actually, Hasranga took 26 wickets ata an average of 16.54 and spent 430 runs whereas Yuzi took 26 wickets at an average of 19.50 while spending 507 runs.
