Mittal's bail application had previously been rejected by the High Court. She was presented in court by the ACB on January 20 and subsequently sent to jail, where she remained for two and a half months.

On March 22, the ACB presented an extensive 11,500-page charge sheet in the special court regarding this case.

However, sacked constable Sumit, who is also implicated in the case and is being sought by the ACB, is still absconding.

What was the matter?

On January 16, the Jaipur ACB team arrested ASP Divya Mittal of SOG in Ajmer on charges of demanding a bribe of 2 crores.

Mittal was then brought to Jaipur by the ACB team and subsequently arrested. The bribe was allegedly solicited through sacked policeman Sumit Kumar in exchange for not arresting the owner of a pharmaceutical company in Haridwar who was under suspicion of drug smuggling.
