Rajasthan Kite Flying Timings: Before the festival of Makar Sankranti, kite flying has started all over the state including Jaipur city. Children, youth, and elders all are climbing on the roofs to fly kites.

The Gehlot government has banned kite flying in view of the incidents happening from Manjha on the approach of Makar Sankranti in the state.

In the order issued by the Home Department, it has been said that there will be a ban on kite flying for two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening.

Ban on kite flying from 6 to 8 in the morning, 5 to 7 in the evening

The Home Department has imposed this ban on kite flying citing the order of the High Court. Kite flying will be banned from 6 to 8 in the morning and from 5 to 7 in the evening.

Along with this, orders have also been given to ban the sale and use of plastic and Chinese manjha. There will be a complete ban on the manufacture, marketing and use of synthetic manjha and Chinese manjha.

According to the information, if found flying kites during the restricted time, there can be an arrest. The collectors and DMs have been asked to take action under section 144 of breach of peace.

If any accident happens during such kite flying or any person gets hurt, then relevant sections can also be invoked.

Railways and metro administration has also issued an appeal

On the other hand, the railway administration has also issued an appeal not to fly kites around the railway track on Makar Sankranti.

According to the Chief Public Relations Officer of North-Western Railway, every year children and people become victims of accidents near the railway track.

At present, almost all the tracks are electrified. Touching the manjha with an electric wire can result in electrocution. Similarly, the Jaipur Metro Rail Administration has also appealed not to fly kites around the track.
