Referring to the eastern Ladakh standoff, General Naravane said that 14 rounds of military-level talks have been held between India and China to bring the situation under control and maintain it. Joint efforts at various levels have led to the completion of the retreat of troops in many areas, which is a constructive step. Efforts will continue to find solutions based on mutual interest.

Army Chief General MM Naravane also took a dig at Pakistan during his speech and said that the situation is better on the Line of Control (LoC) this year, but Pakistan is still giving shelter to terrorists. Infiltration attempts from across the border are continuing, which are being thwarted by our jawans. 144 terrorists have been killed in anti-terror operations. However, 300-400 terrorists are still engaged in a conspiracy to infiltrate India. "The army will never allow them to succeed", says army chief MM Naravane.
