Sisodia Reaches SC Against CBI's Arrest in Delhi Liquor Scam, Hearing to be Held Today Itself

Delhi Liquor Scam: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has challenged his arrest in the Supreme Court in the liquor scam case.

Senior advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi, on behalf of Sisodia, has requested the Chief Justice to hear the matter soon.

The apex court has agreed to hear the petition soon. This petition will be heard today at 3.50 pm.

Although before this the CJI said that he should go to the High Court or adopt other legal options.

In this petition, Sisodia has also raised questions about the investigation being done by the CBI in the alleged liquor scam.

According to media reports, in the meantime, the CBI has again started questioning Sisodia regarding the liquor scam.

On Monday i.e. Feb 27, the special CBI court sent Manish Sisodia on remand for 5 days.

The protesters were seen sitting on roads and chanting slogans, while some staged a foot march in the national capital wearing handcuffs against the BJP.

AAP workers also staged a protest outside the BJP party office in Delhi.

CBI releases statement on Sisodia's arrest in Delhi liquor scam case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) released a statement on Sunday i.e. Feb 26 regarding the arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

The statement claimed that Sisodia was giving evasive replies and was not cooperating in the ongoing investigation into the liquor scam case.

The agency also said that Sisodia had been summoned earlier on February 19 for the ongoing probe, but had requested a week's time citing the Delhi Budget.
