Illegal Mining in Brij 84 Kos: The condition of Sant Vijay Das Maharaj of Brij, who attempted self-immolation to stop illegal mining, is said to be critical.
The saint admitted to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur has been sent to Delhi Safdarjung Hospital by road by making a green corridor on July 21. A special team of doctors has also gone with Baba to Delhi.
Doctors at SMS hospital have said that 85% of Baba’s body was burnt and hence he needs critical care.
Earlier, along with the CM Secretary, DCP Rajeev Pachar and Jaipur District Collector also reached Sawai Man Singh Hospital and talked to the doctors.
It is noteworthy that Baba Vijay Das Maharaj set himself on fire in protest against illegal mining on Adi Badri and Kankanchal hills in Brij 84 Kos area of Bharatpur.
He was initially admitted to RBM hospital in Bharatpur but after a day, he was shifted to Jaipur's SMS hospital.
Baba and many other protesters were protesting against the illegal mining at the Aadi Badri and Kankanchal hills which are referred to as Lord Krishna’s Leela place where they spent their pastimes.
However, the 552-day-long protest has been called off after the demands of the protesters have been accepted by the government and authorities.
On Wednesday, Minister Vishvendra Singh reached the protest site at Pasopa Village of Deeg and handed over a letter from the government to the protesters stating the assurance that the demands of the protesters have been accepted by the government.
Cabinet Minister said that leases in the hills of Aadi Badri and Kankanchal would be shifted to any other area within the time span of two months. And Aadi Badri and Kankanchal areas will be reserved as a forest-protected area within 15 days.
After a letter assuring these demands was handed over to the saints and other people, the protest ended after around one and a half years.
