Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has approached the lower court today i.e. on Friday after not getting relief from the Supreme Court.

Sisodia was arrested in a corruption case related to an alleged excise scam. His lawyer gave this information.

Advocate Rishikesh said that there is a possibility of hearing this application in the court of Special Judge MK Nagpal.

Sisodia was sent to CBI custody on Monday i.e. Fedb 27. He will be produced in court on Saturday after the CBI custody is over.

The CBI arrested Sisodia on Sunday i.e. Feb 26 evening in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy for the year 2021-22, which has now been cancelled.

According to the CBI, he was questioned for eight hours before his arrest, but his answers were allegedly not found satisfactory.

On Tuesday i.e. on Feb 28, Manish Sisodia, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, appeared in the Supreme Court to seek bail.

However, refusing to hear his petition, the Supreme Court advised Sisodia to approach the High Court.

The arrest of Mr. Sisodia is likely to have a negative impact on AAP's preparations for the upcoming elections in Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh later this year.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to disrupt the Delhi government's efforts in improving the education and health sectors.
