Kalicharan Maharaj, arrested in the case of alleged derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi, got bail from a Pune court on a surety of Rs 25,000. What is the whole matter
During the conclusion of the two-day 'Dharma Sansad' (religious parliament) in Raipur, Kalicharan Maharaj allegedly used derogatory words against Mahatma Gandhi and praised his assassin, Nathuram Godse. According to media reports, in this Dharma Sansad of Raipur, Kalicharan Maharaj also asked the people to choose a staunch Hindu leader as the head of the government to protect the religion. Raipur Police had registered a case against Kalicharan Maharaj under sections 294 (objectionable act) and 505 (statement causing mischief in public) of the Indian Penal Code. Later, sedition under 124A and four other sections were also added in this case.
