Eid-al-Adha 2022: Eid-al-Adha is being celebrated across the nation, and on this occasion, a sizable crowd of worshipers congregated in Delhi's Jama Masjid to offer prayers. Prayers were also performed in several mosques across the nation.

Eid al-Adha is a major festival for people who believe in Islam

For Muslims, Eid al-Adha, also known as the Eid of Qurbani, is an important festival. It is celebrated around 70 days after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In accordance with Islamic tradition, Hazrat Ibrahim planned to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail on this day as a sign of obedience to God, then Allah gave life to his son, in whose memory this festival is celebrated.

Eid-e-Qurban means the spirit of sacrifice

'Qurb' in Arabic is said to be close or very close, which means that on this occasion Allah becomes very close to man.

Qurbani refers to the sacrifice of an animal that is sacrificed on the 10th, 11th, 12th or 13th of Zil Hajj (the month of Hajj) to please God. It is written in the Quran: We have given you Hauz-e-Kausar, so you pray for your Allah and make sacrifices.

Eid-al-Adha 2022: Chief Minister Yogi congratulated the people of the state

While Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted the people of the state on the festival of Eid-al-Adha. In a statement, the Chief Minister said in his congratulatory message that the festival of Eid-al-Adha should bring everyone to live together and social harmony.

Shortage of goats in Indore due to high demand

Goats for Eid have been in short supply in Indore ahead of Eid-al-Adha (Bakrid) because of increased demand from other regions of the nation, notably south India. Goat prices have increased along with the rise in demand for them.
