Bridge Collapsed in Gujarat: PM Modi to Visit Morbi Today

Morbi Bridge Collapsed: The Machchhu river incident, where a bridge collapsed, resulted in the death of 141 people in Gujarat. Many women and children also get crushed by the heavy load of the bridge. Apart from this, at least 100 people are admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Gujarat government has initiated the rescue operations from 29th October onwards. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also ordered the rescue from his side.

The people of the nation have been asked to be relieved by the PM as a committee is being organized to investigate the incident and Prime Minister himself is visiting the site today.

The PM assured the safety of people at an occasional summit on the birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat. According to the committee, this incident took place because of the negligence of the engineers of the bridge.

PM Modi also tweeted on his account," I am in Ekta Nagar but my mind is with the victims of Morbi. Rarely in my life, would I have experienced such pain. On one hand, there is a pain-riddled heart and on the other hand, there is the path to duty."

Prime Minister also said that the Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel went to the site and is taking care of the rescue operations going on.

Apart from this, Narendra Modi also cancelled his three days tour of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Various roadshows of the PM get cancelled because of the incident.

The Gujarat police department has filed an FIR under sections 304 and 308 of the Indian Constitution (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) in the bridge collapse tragedy.

Well! this is not the first time in India that great devastation has taken place just for the sake of some money in the account of government officials.

The country needs to be taught a lesson of dignity and the worth of the lives of others.

Everyone watches movies, but no one learns from them. Let's just spread a line to the government officials of India that "With great power, there come great responsibilities."
