Amritpal Singh Arrested: Amritpal Singh, the leader of 'Waris Punjab De' and a pro-Khalistani figure, has been arrested by the Punjab Police.

The Punjab Police has confirmed the arrest of Amritpal Singh, who has been wanted by authorities for some time.

Amritpal Singh, who had been on the run since March 18, was arrested today by Punjab Police from Rode village in Moga, which is also the ancestral village of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala.

Initially, reports indicated that Amritpal Singh had surrendered to the Moga police late at night. However, the Punjab police later clarified that he had been arrested.

Inputs had been received about his presence in different states for about a month. The police had launched a massive operation against him and his organization 'Waris Punjab De' in March, but he had managed to evade arrest.

Amritpal Singh will be transferred to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam, where he will join eight of his aides, including Papalpreet Singh, who are already being held under the National Security Act.

Amritpal Singh Arrested: Punjab-Haryana High Court had previously criticized the Punjab Police

The Punjab-Haryana High Court had previously criticized the Punjab Police for their failure to apprehend Amritpal, despite his associates being caught.

However, he has now been arrested after being on the run for several days. Although there were rumors that he would surrender on the occasion of Baisakhi, he did not.

The Punjab Police had conducted operations across the country, up to the Nepal border, and canceled the holidays of their employees in pursuit of him.
