Agnipath Scheme: Youth protests continue in many states over the government's 'Agnipath' scheme. The biggest opposition to this plan is happening in Bihar. Students have taken to the streets in Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Chapra, Buxar, Jehanabad, Arrah, Munger, and Saharsa.

Students are not considering this plan right for their future. Students say that there is no provision of permanent service or pension in this scheme and their future will be insecure after four years of service.

However, the government says that under this scheme, 25 per cent of 'Agniveers' who have served four years will be made permanent in the army, while 75 per cent of soldiers will be given preference in recruitment in different departments and undertakings of the central government.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also said that his government would give priority to 'Agniveers' to be accommodated in the police and allied forces of the police after service.

CM Yogi said in his tweet, 'Agnipath Yojana' will prepare the youth for the service of the nation and society, as per the wishes of the respected Prime Minister, and will provide them with an opportunity for a proud future.

Home Ministry

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that through this scheme, it is a visionary and welcome step of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the bright future of the youth of the country.

In this regard, the Ministry of Home Affairs decided that Agniveers who have completed four years under this scheme will be given priority in the recruitment of CAPFs and Assam Rifles.

Opposition parties are attacking the government on this plan

The 'Agnipath' scheme has been welcomed by the BJP-ruled states, while the opposition parties are attacking the government over this scheme.

The oppositions say that through this scheme the government wants to cut the defence budget. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that the government is making the army a recruitment laboratory.

At the same time, the protesting students say that when more than 40 thousand Agniveers will be appointed in the next 96 days, then what will happen to the appointments that were to be made in the last two years.
