E-registration Will be Necessary Before Entering Punjab

People coming to Punjab from other states will have to register on the state government's web portal or 'Kova Punjab' mobile app from Monday midnight. Apart from this, an official statement said that those who come will also have to live in isolation at home for 14 days.

"The process of e-registration has been made mandatory for all passengers from midnight today," an official statement said on Monday. Travelers can register themselves and travel uninterruptedly from their homes as per the guidelines issued by the government as per their convenience."

The state government has advised people to get Kova registered through Punjab app or web link before starting the journey to enter Punjab. The statement said that the purpose of e-registration is that passengers should not have any inconvenience due to congestion and long queues at the check post at the border.

The state government had on July 3 advised those who enter Punjab by road, rail or aircraft to register it. The statement said that if the coronavirus symptoms are found in the passenger, the health personnel posted at the border check post would guide the passenger.

It stated, "Travelers without symptoms must live in isolation at their home for 14 days after entering."

The statement said that during isolation, they would have to tell about their medical condition daily by calling 112 or through the Kova Punjab app. It should be noted that to provide information to the people regarding the coronavirus, the state government has prepared the Kova Punjab (Corona Virus Alert) app.
