Important Meeting Going on in Police Head Quarters: Delhi

Violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University, the important meeting is going on at the Delhi Police Headquarters from 11 am on the issue of demonstrations against NRC-CAA. According to the information received, the Joint Commissioner of Fact Finding Committee, Shalini Singh, headed by the Commissioner of Police and other officials are present in the meeting on the issue of uproar in JNU for the last few days.

To address various issues related to policing in Delhi-NCR and to maintain better coordination, an inter-state coordination meeting was held at the new police headquarters on Jai Singh Road on Thursday. Several police officers from neighboring states were present in the meeting chaired by Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik. In the meeting, Amulya Patnaik said that every intelligence information should be shared with the police of neighboring states in view of Assembly elections and Republic Day. At the same time, emphasis was placed on the exchange of intelligence related to terror about various extremist organizations.

According to Additional Public Relations Officer ACP Anil Mittal, the meeting was informed that the prevalence of illicit liquor increases during the election. Political parties distribute liquor heavily to entice voters. Antisocial elements carry illegal weapons to intimidate people. Money is distributed. The movement of muscle forces increases. In such a situation, intensive patrolling is required in all sensitive areas to curb them all. Apart from this, anti-terrorism measures like verification of tenants, checking of guest houses, checking of cyber cafes and monitoring of second-hand car dealers were asked. Instructions have been given to do regular strict checking and vigil on all the borders of Delhi.
