Coal Shortage: Warning of Big Crisis Regarding Trains and Electricty
Coal Shortage: Due to scorching heat and a shortage of coal, people in many states of the country are facing power cuts. As a result, 16 states have begun to experience power cuts lasting up to 10 hours. The government is making every effort to eliminate this problem.
In view of coal crisis in the country, 42 passenger trains have been cancelled across the country on Friday. This step has been so that the coal-carrying trains can reach the respective power plants with stock at the earliest.
Amidst all this, the government of Delhi has also warned that there is a shortage of coal in the power plants supplying electricity to the capital. In such a situation, there may be a problem in supplying electricity to all necessary institutions including metro trains and hospitals.

The pressure on railways to transport coal is increasing continuously. Due to this, the Railways had to cancel many mail, express and passenger trains every day for the last few weeks.
Coal Shortage: Passenger trains cancelled
Railways are taking steps to give way to coal-laden goods trains. Railways have decided to cancel some trains for the next 1 month. 670 passenger trains have been cancelled till 24 May 2022.
Out of this, more than 500 trains are long-distance mail and express trains. At the same time, the average number of goods trains laden with coal has been increased.
Railways have decided to provide 415 freight trains for the transportation of coal
According to sources, the Railways have decided to provide 415 freight trains every day for the transportation of coal. This will meet the demand for coal. Each goods train is capable of carrying around 3,500 tonnes of coal. It is known that due to the rains from July to August, the mining of coal is the least.
