Big Relief to India as Canada lifts Ban on Passenger Flights

Deepak Sharma

There is news of great relief for the travelers going from India to Canada. Actually, Canada has lifted the ban on flights for months due to Corona. Now air service will start once again from September 27. The India-to-Canada direct flight ban ended on September 21 but was extended once again by Transport Canada till September 26. However, with the restrictions now over, travelers from India can now travel to Canada with certain precautionary measures.

The Canadian government issued new guidelines

  • Under the new guidelines of the Government of Canada, passengers will have to undergo a corona test (molecular) from a Canada-approved gene string lab at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The passengers will only be allowed to board the flight only if the result is negative.
  • This test has to be done within 18 hours of the scheduled departure of their direct flight to Canada. The COVID-19 test conducted from any other lab in India will not be recognized by a visit to Canada.
  • Fully vaccinated passengers will also have to upload necessary information on the Arrivacan mobile app of the Canadian government or website. The authorities will ensure that the passengers have done so. Passengers who are unable to meet these requirements will be denied boarding.
  • Travelers from India who are traveling to Canada by indirect route must have a negative COVID-19 molecular report from any third country other than India. This corona test will have to be done within 72 hours of departure.
