Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New York on Saturday during his US visit. Here he will address the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). PM Modi met Indian-Americans outside a New York hotel on Friday night. Here people raised slogans of Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Its video has also surfaced. India's Permanent Representative to the UN TS Tirumurti said that India can raise its voice in the General Assembly on global issues like terrorism, climate change, equitable and affordable access to vaccines, Indo-Pacific, and reforms in the United Nations. Affordable and equitable access to vaccines is also on India's agenda.

How long will the PM's address be?

Each leader is allotted 15 minutes to address the UNGA. The representative of all countries has to take special care of the time limit, but many leaders do not pay attention to it. Like US President Joe Biden gave a 30-minute speech on Tuesday. Former President Barack Obama gave a speech of 47 minutes in 2016, 43 minutes in 2015, and 39 minutes in 2014.

PM Modi and President Biden talked for 1 hour

PM Modi met US President Joe Biden on Friday. Indian-Americans were eagerly waiting for this meeting, which lasted for about an hour. Due to Kovid, this time there was no public program or public gathering of the Prime Minister. Despite this, hundreds of people of Indian origin gathered outside the White House. There was great enthusiasm among these people about the meeting of the leaders of the two great democracies of the world.

This was the first meeting of the Modi-Biden

Biden was sworn in as US President on January 20. After this, this was the first time when both the leaders sat face to face and talked. There are common challenges for both countries. The havoc of Kovid has not stopped completely in both countries. Rapid vaccination is a challenge. And a fresh and shared challenge is emerging from Afghanistan.
