FIH PRO League: Belgium Beat India by 3-2

The Indian men's hockey team was beaten by world champions Belgium 3–2 in the FIH Pro League match here on Sunday. India won 2–1 in the first match played at Kalinga Stadium here on Saturday. This is Belgium's fourth win in six matches of the FIH Pro League and now has 14 points and is firmly on top. This is India's first defeat in four matches and is at number two with eight points. Belgium started well in the match and in the second minute, Alexander Hendricks's goal helped to achieve a 1-0 lead. But, India scored 1-1 in the match with the help of Vivek Sagar Prasad's goal eight seconds ago.

The Belgian team got off to a good start in the second quarter and took a 2–1 lead in the 17th minute thanks to a goal from De Kerpel. However, India retaliated in the next minute with a goal from Amit Rohidas to level the match 2–2. The Belgian team then scored in the 25th minute with a superb goal from Maxime Pleneveaux before the half ended with a 3–2 lead that lasted until the end of the match.
