Prime Minister Modi’s Warm Welcome in Houston

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Houston on Saturday for the 'Howdy Modi' program, was strongly welcomed by the people of the Indian community. US President Donald Trump will also be present in this program and Modi will address more than 50000 Indian-American people. 'Howdy Modi' program will be organized on Sunday at NRG Football Stadium.

This will be the largest gathering of people on the US tour of any elected foreign leader, except the Pope. Soon after arriving at George Bush International Airport, Modi tweeted, "Howdy Houston! It's noon here in Houston. Today and tomorrow I look forward to a wide range of programs in this dynamic and energetic city.

The Prime Minister was received by American envoy Kenneth Juster in India, Indian envoy Harshvardhan Shringla and other senior officials in the US. In the next 24 hours, in Houston, Modi will address the Indian American community and their elected representatives at the 'Howdy Modi' program with the US President. He will meet with officials of leading US energy companies to promote Indo-US energy partnership.

After Houston, PM Modi will go to New York where he will address the session of the United Nations General Assembly on 27 September.
