Punjab: 15-year-old Boy Stabbed to Death inside Civil Hospital in Ludhiana, Two Arrested

A tragic incident occurred at the Civil Hospital in Punjab's Ludhiana region, where a group of attackers murdered a 15-year-old boy after entering the emergency ward of Lord Mahavir Civil Hospital.

The incident happened on the night of July 14. The deceased has been identified as Sawan Kumar, a resident of the EWS Colony.

Police said that Sawan, along with his elder brother Sumit, had gone to the civil hospital to get a medical report after the scuffle with the accused.

The attackers cut off Sawan's fingers and also injured his elder brother. Apart from this, the window and door of the emergency ward were broken.

Police have registered a murder case against Vishal, Sahil, Abhishek, Ankur, Manu, Vikas, Sahil Kumar and 10 of their associates, who are yet to be identified.

The police have arrested Sahil and Abhishek, while the rest are absconding.

In a complaint to the police, the victim's brother-in-law Rajveer said that Sumit was attacked on July 14 by Sahil and Ankur and their two unidentified accomplices.

He and Sawan took Sumit to the hospital. The accused chased them and when Sawan was standing outside the emergency ward, the accused attacked him with sharp weapons.

Police engaged in the investigation

Rajveer further said that Sawan ran inside the emergency ward and tried to lock the door from inside, but the assailants broke the window panes and killed him.

Sawan was taken to Christian Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP, City 1) Rupinder Kaur Sara said the murder was a result of a clash of egos between two groups of youths.

The ADCP said that the age of the accused are between 20 and 22 years. She also said that further investigation is being done into the matter.
