No Plans of Retirement, Preparing for Olympics 2021: Sushil Kumar

Akash Singh

Wrestler Sushil Kumar, who has won the Olympic title twice for India, has made it clear that he is engaged in preparations for the 2021 Olympics. Sushil is at that stage of age where people say goodbye to the game, but he said that instead of paying attention to these things, I am in my preparations. People have a habit of writing about my career is over, but it doesn't matter to me.

Sushil Kumar struggled to qualify for the Olympics but his hopes of winning the medal once again are rekindled after the event was postponed for a year. Sushil will turn 37 next month and if he qualifies for the Tokyo Olympics in July this year, it would have been his last event.

Sushil Kumar rejected any plans for his retirement saying that he was practicing daily to continue the game. He said that I am not going anywhere. I have got more time means better preparation. He showed some power while returning to the 2019 World Championships but was ruled out in the early stages. Narsingh Yadav may also get a chance to return as the Tokyo Olympics date progresses as his ban ends in July.
