Of the 3,374 confirmed cases of corona virus reported in the country till Sunday night, 1,095 are related to the Tablighi Jamaat. This figure accounts for one third of the total cases. The number of COVID-19 cases in the country is doubling every 4.1 days. If there was no mobilization related to the Jamaat, these cases would have doubled in 7.4 days. This information was given by an official attached to the Ministry of Health.

By Sunday night, 472 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours and 11 deaths were reported. Luv Agarwal, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health, said, "The rate of doubling of cases is by 4.1 days, it would have been 7.4 if the tabloid case had not come." According to the advisory of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), rapid anti-body tests will be done for the clusters container after the lockdown. These tests can be started from Wednesday itself. This is an additional test for COVID-19.

The official said that despite being a country with a large population, India has so far managed to limit the spread of the deadly virus to a great extent. Because of this, our social distancing and other measures were being started sooner than in Italy, Spain or America.

Aggarwal said, "The good thing is that 267 people have recovered from COVID-19 so far." According to the advisory, spitting or smoking in public places carries the risk of spreading the virus infection rapidly. ICMR has released new testing guidelines for COVID-19. In this, rapid anti body testing has been allowed in India. This will help agencies to increase screening and identify capabilities.

According to reports, ICMR sent its advisory a few days ago after being requested by several states like Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This gave the green signal to start the antibody rapid test in the country. The important thing is that these kits can be used to fast track the data of the transition from small clusters in the city to the village level. It is very important to do so in the current context.

According to Health Ministry officials, rapid antibody test is very suitable for such hotspot areas where large number of COVID-19 cases is coming up. According to experts, the antibody test does not always detect viral infection quickly but it can indicate that a particular virus is present in someone, even when the person does not show any symptoms. These tests are important for community surveillance and testing purposes.
