First Death from Omicron in India, More than 90,000 Corona Cases Found in Last 24 Hours

In India, the first case of death from the new variant of the corona virus, Omicron, has been reported. According to the information, a patient died of Omicron in Rajasthan on December 31. Meanwhile, the cases of Corona that have come today have scared everyone. According to the Ministry of Health, 90,928 new cases of corona virus have been reported in India in the last 24 hours while 19,206 have recovered. During this time 325 people have died due to corona.

The Health Ministry said that the total number of Omicron cases in the country increased to 2,630. The states with the most cases of Omicron are Maharashtra and Delhi, with 797 and 465 cases respectively. Of the 2,630 Omicron patients, 995 have recovered.

The center has expressed it as a "Swift Increase" whose spread is far higher than the spread recorded during the second brutal wave of the virus. The 'R Value', a scale showing the speed of spread of infection, is currently at a higher level in cases. Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh have joined a growing list of states that have re-imposed night curfews to handle the Corona pandemic.

'R naught Value' is 2.69, higher than peak of second wave

NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr VK Paul informed on Wednesday that 'R naught Value' is 2.69. This is more than the 1.69 figure we saw at the peak of the second wave of the Corona. The spread of cases is faster than ever.

73-year-old man died due to Omicron

Officials of the Union Health Ministry have given information regarding the death from Omicron. Omicron variant has been seen in the sample of a 73-year-old man who died on Dec 31 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry Lav Agarwal said that the death case in Rajasthan is "technically" related to the new variant Omicron of Corona. The person died before the report of being infected with Omicron came.

Patient was an elderly person and had diabetes

It is being told that a 73-year-old man who died last week in Udaipur, Rajasthan had diabetes along with other diseases and as per protocol, he was being treated for infection along with other diseases.

Record increase in Covid Cases in the country

There has been a record increase in Covid Cases in the country again. 90,928 new cases of coronavirus have come in the country in the last 24 hours. Apart from this, 325 people have also lost their lives due to corona infection. There has been a jump of 56.5 percent in corona cases as compared to Wednesday.
