Petrol, Diesel Prices decreased for the Second Consecutive Day, Relief in the Festive Season

Petrol and diesel prices have been cut for the second consecutive day on Friday, which will give relief to the common consumers in the festive season. Petrol in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai became 18 paise on Friday, while in Chennai it was 19 paise per liter cheaper. At the same time, the price of diesel has decreased by 8 paise in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, while 9 paise per liter in Chennai.

According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have come down to Rs 74.33, Rs 76.96, Rs 79.93 and Rs 77.21 per liter respectively. Diesel prices in the four metros have also come down to Rs 67.35, Rs 69.71, Rs 70.61 and Rs 71.15 per liter respectively.

According to the news agency IANS, in these two days, petrol has become cheaper by 28 paise per liter in Delhi, while the price of diesel has come down by 14 paise per liter.

Anuj Gupta, deputy vice president (energy and currency research), Angel Broking, said that during the festive season, the prices of all essential commodities ranging from fruits and vegetables have increased, which has also contributed to the increase in oil prices in the past. In such a situation, due to the reduction in the price of oil now, ordinary consumers will get a big relief. Gupta said that the prices of petrol and diesel will decrease further, because the price of crude oil has come down in the international market.

Crude Oil Prices Decrease 

He said that after the drone attack on Saudi Arabian oil company Saudi Aramco on September 14, the international market recorded the biggest one-day rise in crude oil prices after 28 years, when Brent crude was priced at $ 71.95. Per barrel, but since then the price of Brent has broken about $ 14 per barrel.

Earlier, after the attack on an oil company of Saudi Arabia last month, there was a continuous rise in the price of petrol and diesel due to the strong rise in the price of crude oil. Experts tell that in the coming days, the price of both vehicles fuels will decrease further.
