Our Company may Incur a Loss of Rs 30-35 Crores a day while Domestic Flights are Suspended: Air India

The government-run airline Air India has expressed fears that it may incur a loss of Rs 30-35 crore a day while domestic flights are suspended. Let us tell you that to stop the spread of coronavirus, domestic flights are banned till March 31 in the country. According to sources, 'We are not operating any commercial flight like other airlines following the orders of the government. Nevertheless, our daily loss from this is estimated to be in the range of 30 to 35 crores.'

He said that due to the suspension of flights our cost of fuel, ground handling, airport charges have come down. But we still have to pay salaries, allowances, minimum maintenance and interest.

The daily income of Air India is 60 to 65 crores. 90 percent of this is from the income of passengers. Air India has to pay around Rs 250 crore every month as salary while the company pays about $ 30 million per month on the fares of the planes. Apart from this, the company has to pay Rs 225 crore every month on payment of interest, etc.
