Chennai Super Kings Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: In the 46th match of Indian Premier League 2024 season, the Yellow will take on the Orange tomorrow, 28th April 2024. These two sides were in the finals of 2018 IPL season, where Chennai Super Kings had won that match and clinched their third trophy of this cash rich league tournament.
But as of now, CSK will aim for a turnaround after they faced two back to back defeats in their matches which where played versus the Lucknow Super Giants. CSK batted well in both of those matches. However their bowling was a concern as their bowlers couldn’t defend 211 runs in the last game.
CSK should also look to bring back Rachin Ravindra as their opening batter and let Ajinlya Rahane bat at number three position, where the majority of the success that come for Rahane. Jinx was the difference in that last IPL season when the Yellow Army won their fifth trophy. Now it doesn’t make any sense to open the innings with Ajinkya when there are options available for them.
CSK should also make one more change to their playing XI, they should add Mahesh Theekshana instead of Moeen Ali or Daryl Mitchell. Theekshana was also the star bowler for the Yellow Army along with his country men, Pathirana, who is still doing a wonderful job with cherry in hand.
Talking about the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Orange Army had lost three matches and they are 3rd on the points table. The batters of SRH have been extra aggressive in the powerplay overs and that is why, they have posted a total of 125 runs which is the most in the first six overs. But in the last game everything fell for Cummins and co against RCB.
Now the Hyderabad side cannot slip because the tournament is on its business end. If SRH wants make it to the playoffs of this year’s TATA IPL 2024, they should look to cement their position on the three spot because we all know that the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs berth in this tournament.
The last time when CSK and SRH met in the TATA IPL 2024 season, the Orange Army won that match by six wickets. In their allotted 20 overs, the Super Kings managed to score just 165 runs which the Sunrisers side chased down in 18.1 overs.
