Jet Airways Flight: Is Travelling at Jet Airways Risky? Warnings Given by Jet Engineers

Monali Gupta

Jet Airways are continuing to stop their flights from flying and flights cancellation. Meanwhile, the association of the airline's maintenance engineers informed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday that they have not been paid for three months and security of the flights is at risk.

The Jet Aircraft Engineers Welfare Association (JAMEWA) wrote to the DGCA in a letter, "It has become difficult for us to meet our financial needs. As a result, the impact of the aircraft engineers on the psychological situation has also been affected and it also affects their work. And in such a way, the safety of Jet Airways, which fly in the country and abroad, is at risk.

According to the letter, 'senior management is searching for solutions in the business. We have been under tremendous pressure from the engineers for not getting the salary from time in the last seven months and we have not received salaries especially for three months. We check the planes, repair them and prove that the plane is worth flying.'

Jet Airways, who was struggling for cash crunch, had on Monday stopped its four more aircraft from flying. Because of the non-payment of rent for the leased aircraft, the total number of planes out of operation has gone up to 41. JAMEWA has demanded intervention from DGCA in this case. Today Jet Airways' stock fell by 3.36 percent and it was trading at Rs 228 in the afternoon.
