Upendra Singh, the Congress candidate from the Agra Rural Assembly of Tajnagri, has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court in which he has alleged that after the voting in Agra on February 10, when the sealing of EVMs was done in the strong room in the Mandi Committee, the candidate and agent were not called. Along with this, he has filed this petition with many more questions. His petition will be heard on March 7.

Actually, voting was held in Agra under the first phase on February 10. Congress candidate Upendra Singh is contesting from Agra Rural Assembly. Upendra Singh had complained to the Returning Officer and Observer about not calling any candidate and agent during the sealing of EVMs in the Mandi Committee premises after voting.

CCTV footage not provided

At the same time, he had also said that the cables of the CCTV cameras installed outside the strong room were also out. And he also complained about removing a door behind the strong room a few days ago. In this case, he also staged a sit-in at the Mandi Committee site. After which the Returning Officer and the Observer assured them to provide CCTV footage in a few days but none of them was heard.

Upendra Singh has filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court after the hearing in which he has filed a petition based on questions such as not calling any candidate and agent at the time of sealing the EVM, the cables of the CCTV camera being protruded, etc.

He has also mentioned that neither he was provided footage of CCTV cameras installed outside the strong room nor did he reply to his complaint letters. Upendra Singh has made the Chief Election Commissioner, State Election Commission, District Election Officer, Deputy District Election Officer Returning Officer and SSP as respondents in the petition. This petition of Upendra Singh will now be heard on March 7.
