Indian-origin Sundar Pichai on Tuesday appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its parent company Alphabet. Pichai replaces Larry Page, co-founder of this Legendary Company. Larry Page and Sergey Brin will be involved as co-founders, share holders and members of Alphabet's board of directors.

Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have announced this. So far, this responsibility was with Google co-founder Sergey Brin. Larry Page and Sergey Brin say that they believe the time has come when they have to fulfill their family responsibilities. Although, both will remain in the board of the company. 21 years ago, in 1998, Google was built in a garage in Silicon Valley (California). This was followed by several major changes in the company in 2015 and Alphabet was created as its parent company. Google today ranks among the largest companies in the world.

Alphabet is a group of different companies. Alphabet distinguishes Google from other institutions such as the Waymo (Automated Car) Verily (Biological Sciences) Calico (Biotech R&D) Sidewalk Lab (Urban Innovation) and Loon (Internet availability in rural areas with balloon support). In a letter to employees, Page and Brin said that we never stopped management whenever we felt there was a better way to run the company. Alphabet was formed in 2015, which gives Google and other projects such as autonomous car unit Waymo and smart cities group Sidewalk Labs a distinct identity.
