Jaishankar, Qatari FM Discusses Afghanistan Situation in Doha

External affairs minister S Jaishankar on Friday discussed current situation in Afghanistan with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. Jaishankar stopped at Qatar's capital Doha on his way back to India from a four-day visit to the US. Negotiations are still going on in Qatar regarding peace talks in Afghanistan. Some Taliban leaders are still present there. Earlier, Taliban leaders had met with the Indian officials in Qatar.

The External Affairs Minister himself has given this information via tweet, saying that important views have been exchanged on Afghanistan's current situation. On the other hand, it has also been told on behalf of Sheikh Al Thani that along with the historical relations between the two countries, there has also been discussion about the recent changes in Afghanistan. The first round of talks between the US and the Taliban began in Doha, the capital of Qatar. This paved the way for the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.

Jaishankar-Blinken held talks: 

On the other hand, continuous high-level discussions are going on between India and the US. On Thursday, there was a discussion between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. According to the information received, talks held exclusively between Jaishankar and Blinkan regarding Afghanistan.
