According to authorities, a 12-year-old girl was raped, bitten numerous times, and brutalised by two men working for the trust that manages a prominent temple in Maihar, Satna district, Madhya Pradesh.
The trust has fired the couple, who were arrested on Thursday for allegedly inserting a hard object in her private regions, according to police sources, but a senior official said this can only be confirmed until her medical examination report is obtained.
According to the police, the profusely bleeding girl was admitted to a hospital at the divisional headquarters in Rewa for advanced medical attention, and the accused were identified as Ravindra Kumar Ravi and Atul Bhadoliya.
I am aware that the defendants, Ravindra Kumar Ravi and Atul Bhadoliya, have been accused of inserting a stick or other item into the private areas of a 12-year-old girl. Nonetheless, establishing conclusive evidence for these charges would necessitate a medical report.
Her medical report is still pending. Satna Superintendent of Police, Ashutosh Gupta, informed PTI via phone that she was bleeding, and medical professionals are closely monitoring her condition.
When asked about the girl's status, the SP stated that a panel of doctors treating her declared her condition was "okay" at this moment.
"We are pursuing legal action against those accused," Gupta stated.
The accused, both 30 years old, were brought before a local court on Friday and sentenced to 14 days in judicial imprisonment, according to Gupta.
The duo was charged under IPC sections, 376DB (punishment for gang rape on a woman under the age of 12), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 366A (procuration of minor girl), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376 (punishment for rape), 34 (common intention), and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, according to the police.
According to another source, the rape occurred in Maihar, a temple town some 45 kilometres from the district seat.
According to him, the accused enticed the victim and took her to a secluded location where they raped and assaulted her.The two were apprehended by police on Friday morning, according to Lokesh Dabar, Maihar sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP).
According to him, the survivor was admitted to the Rewa hospital after receiving first aid at Maihar. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed the police to take harsh action against the culprits and to provide the girl with the finest medical care available.
Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath condemned the event, saying the victim was subjected to an atrocious treatment reminiscent of the Nirbhaya case in Delhi in 2012.
