Delhi Liquor Scam Case: In the Delhi liquor scam case, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently detained in Tihar Jail, might receive a decision on his bail plea from the Supreme Court on Friday.

Intense arguments took place in the Supreme Court on Tuesday, during which the court posed several questions to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and reserved its judgment after the hearing.

Following today's hearing on Arvind Kejriwal's interim bail, Justice Sanjiv Khanna told the ED's lawyer that he might issue an order on the matter on Friday.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi Said This Yesterday

During the hearing on Tuesday, the Supreme Court told Kejriwal's lawyer, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, that Kejriwal would not sign any documents during the bail period.

Singhvi, setting a condition, said that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi should not return the files if they lack the Chief Minister's signatures.

The Supreme Court expressed that if Kejriwal performs his official duties while on bail, it could have broad implications and create a conflict of interest situation.

ED's Lawyer Opposed Bail

In the Supreme Court on Tuesday, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Enforcement Directorate (ED), opposed any leniency towards Arvind Kejriwal for campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections, stating that it would amount to following a separate set of laws for politicians.

Tushar Mehta argued using the analogy of a farmer and a shop owner, questioning if a farmer would be granted bail during the harvest season.

In the alleged liquor policy scam case, the ED had arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following an interrogation at his residence.

Kejriwal is currently detained in Tihar Jail. He has filed a petition against his arrest, after which the Supreme Court reserved its judgment following the hearing.
