
T20 World Cup 2024: Australia was the host country of the last year’s T20 World Cup in 2022, which was won by England and the next 20 overs World Cup tournament will be played in West Indies and the United States of America (USA) will also be the co-host of this ICC mega event of the shortest format.
According to reports, the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup next year will be played from 4th June 2024 and the final of this T20 tournament shall be played on 30th June 2024.
The International Cricket Council has also shortlisted four venues from the United States of America and the delegations of the main board had also visited the five shortlisted venues in that country.
The five stadiums in the USA which are shortlisted will host an ICC event for the very first time.
Morrisville, Dallas, New York and Lauderhill in Florida are some of the listed venues of the United States of America for matches in the main event and the warm-up matches will also be played at these venues.
20 teams will participate in next year’s T20 World Cup 2024. Ireland, Scotland and Papua New Guinea have been qualified for the T20 WC next year.
As the hosts of the T20 World Cup 2024, West Indies and United States of America will get a direct entry into this ICC mega event of the T20 International format.
While the top eight teams like India, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Netherlands, South Africa and the defending champions England will also play in this tournament along with Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
The next T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in different grouping styles. 20 teams will be put in four different groups with five teams each in one group for the first round.
The top two winning teams will get into the super eight round. Then the winners of the super eight round will be put into two groups of four teams each and the final two teams will play the last match of this event.
