South Africa Vs India: After the three match series of the shortest format, India and South Africa will gear up for the three-match series of the one-day international format.

This series will be the first one after India had lost the ODI World Cup 2023 against the Aussies. In the league match of that ODI event, India defeated South Africa.

But that match was led by Rohit Sharma and now Kannur Lokesh Rahul will lead this young team in this ODI series. India has rested their star players like Kohli, Sharma, Bumrah, Shami and Siraj for this three-match series of the one-day international format and these players were part of the 2023 ODI World Cup campaign.

In this series of the fifty-overs format, India will have some new faces in the ODI setup. Rinku Singh, Akash Deep, Sai Sudharsan and Rajat Patidar will play this series and including these players is a sign that the Indian team is looking ahead for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and maybe the ODI World Cup in 2027.

Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal have been recalled into the ODI side after they were left out of the 2023 ICC mega event in the fifty-overs format.

Suryakumar Yadav, the T20 International skipper has also been rested for this series of the one-day international format. Deepak Chahar will not take part further on this tour and Akash Deep will be his replacement.

The Proteas still have a settled unit and players like Dussen, Maharaj, Klaasen, Shamsi, Miller and Markram were part of their campaign in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Aiden Markram will lead this ODI side as well as he did in the three-match series of the T20 International format.

Like India, South Africa will also have new faces on their side for this three-match series. Aiden Markram will hope that those players will fire for them in this series.

Reeza Hendricks is the potential player who will replace Quinton de Kock as the opening batter of the Proteas team. That is why, Hendricks is the player to watch out for in this ODI series.
