Batting would be a challenge in Dhaka as the pitch report of the Shere-E-Bangla National Stadium say that the track isn’t easy to bat on.
The batters will have to use their strong technique and grind themselves. The wicket will beneficial for the bowlers with the red cheery. Win the toss and choosing to bowl first might be a better option.
The skies are clear for all five days of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh. There are no chances of rain throughout the second Test match.
Rohit Sharma is still unavailable for the second and the last Test match of this two-match series of the red ball format.
KL Rahul who started this year as a captain will also end the year 2022 as the skipper of the men in blue side. Rahul couldn’t win a single match on the tour of South Africa.
The Karnataka opener won his first match and the fifty-over series against Zimbabwe when India toured that nation. In the last Test match, KL also won his first-ever Test match.
Now India under the leadership of KL Rahul will want to clean sweep Bangladesh and also maintain their superb record in the Test format. The Blues have not lost a red ball match against Bangladesh till now.
Shubman Gill and Chesteshwar Pujara slammed their centuries in the second innings of the first Test match. Gill got his maiden ton in Test match cricket and Pujara scored a century after a gap of three long years.
Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin also batted well in the first innings along with Kuldeep Yadav, who scored 40 runs.
However, KL Rahul must fire in the second Test match after he didn’t do that well in the first match. Virat Kohli too scored just one run in the first innings and he had nothing much to do in the second because Gill and Pujara were excellent. Still, India will need runs from the Run Machine King Kohli in the last match of 2022.
Pant was brilliant behind the stumps and scored an attacking 46 runs. He too started his innings well and now in the last match, Rishabh should convert the start into a big score.
Kuldeep Yadav bagged eight wickets in the first Test match and he was supported well by Axar, Umesh and Siraj. India will look to continue their dominant performance in the second Test as well.
Bangladesh will have to find ways to bat well. In the first innings, their innings were cut short by Kuldeep Yadav. But in the second innings, they had got off to a great start.
The middle-order players who are also the senior players of the team didn't step up after the start provided by Bangladeshi openers.
Zakir Hasan scored his first hundred in his first Test match while Shanto too played well for his half-century.
Bangladeshis will go with a few changes after the injury scares in the first Test match. They should bring back Taskin Ahmed after Ebadot Hossain is not part of the second and the last Test match against a powerful side like India.
Taskin is an experienced pacer and the home side should have named Mustafizur Rahman for this series.
Shakib Al Hasan played well in the second innings. But his knock of 84 runs was entertaining and not match-winning. The skipper should promote himself up the order and they should bring Mominul Haque instead of Yasir Shah.
The home side can also go with three spin bowlers and two spinners just like the visitors, India, did in the first Test match. Mehdi, Nasum and Taijul would be the three spinners while Taskin and Khaled can be the two pacers.
