Asia Cup 2023: The Asia Cup has been a tournament where the top teams of Asia and the Subcontinent play to be the King of Asia.
This has been a six-team tournament till now. The Asia Cup was initially played only in the One Day International format and since 2016 the Asia Cup is been played in the shortest format as well.
In 2023, the Asia Cup will be played in the fifty-overs format because of the upcoming World Cup in the ODI format. That ICC mega event will be played in India from 5th October 2023 to November 19th 2023.
The Asia Cup 2023 will be played in the hybrid model where Pakistan and Sri Lanka will host this event.
Pakistan will host the starting four games and then the whole event will be shifted to Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup 2023 will be played from 31st August 2023 to September, 17th 2023.
Still, the venues and the fixtures of this ACC event has not been announced yet. So before this event begins, today let us know about the top two sides of Asia who have won the most titles in this tournament till now.
The men in blue side have won seven titles of the Asia Cup so far, which is the most in this event. This time, Rohit Sharma and his men will be aiming to get their eighth trophy.
India was the winner of the first edition of this event and they had also won the first-ever Asia Cup event when it was played in the T20 International format in 2016.
The men in blue side are also the defending champions of the Asia Cup in the fifty-overs format.
Under Rohit Sharma, this Indian Team won the ODI Asia Cup in 2018 when the event was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Lankan Tigers are currently on the ODI winning streak and they have also qualified for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 tournament in India.
The Sri Lankan team is in good form in the ODI World Cup qualifiers which is going on in Zimbabwe and they will be the team to watch out for in the upcoming ODI Asia Cup 2023 as well.
Sri Lanka has won six trophies of the Asia Cup so far. They had won the last year’s tournament when it was played in the shortest format.
Sri Lanka started the Asia Cup 2022 event with a loss against the Afghans. But in the end, they won the final and defeated the tournament’s favourites Pakistan.

Pakistan is the other team who have played in this tournament. The men in green side had reached the finals of the Asia Cup 2022, which was played in the shortest format.
But they lost to Sri Lanka that time. The arch-rivals have won just two titles of the Asia Cup till now. Both of their wins have been in the One Day International format mode and they are yet to win the Asia Cup T20 event.
In the years 2000 and 2012, Pakistan was the Asia Cup Champions.
