Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, lodged in Tihar Jail, has suffered another setback. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has rejected his plea to consult a doctor through video conferencing regarding his insulin requirements.

Aam Aadmi Party has been protesting for more than a week against Kejriwal not being given insulin.

In his petition, Kejriwal had requested that Tihar jail authorities be directed to provide him insulin and allow him daily 15-minute video conferencing sessions with a doctor to discuss his sugar levels and diabetes management. However, the court has rejected this petition.

Tihar Administration Accused of Lying by Arvind Kejriwal

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal had written a letter to the Tihar Jail authorities. In the letter, he has accused the jail administration of lying about not providing insulin.

Kejriwal said, "I read the statement of the Tihar administration in the newspaper. I feel sad after reading it. Both the statements of Tihar are false; I am demanding daily insulin."

What Did the Court Say About Insulin?

The court, responding to Arvind Kejriwal's request for insulin, said that a medical board should be constituted under the supervision of specialist doctors (endocrinologists/diabetologists) from AIIMS to decide on the matter.

Let it be known that Arvind Kejriwal is a diabetic patient and Aam Aadmi Party is continuously demanding that insulin should be provided to him while he is in Tihar Jail. There was a lot of debate in the court between ED and Kejriwal's lawyer regarding this matter.

The Rouse Avenue court also ordered Tihar authorities to submit health reports related to Kejriwal to the court until the medical report is received from the AIIMS board.
