Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The drumbeats of democracy's grand festival have begun. The Election Commission has announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections. The entire election will be conducted in 7 phases.
The voting for the first phase will take place on April 19. The election process will continue for 43 days nationwide. The announcement of the new government will be made on June 4.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar stated that the first phase of voting will be held on April 19, followed by the second phase on April 26, the third on May 7, the fourth on May 13, the fifth phase on May 20, the sixth phase on May 25, and the seventh phase on June 1. Vote counting will take place on June 4.
Phase 1: Voting on April 19 for 102 seats.
Phase 2: Polling on April 26 for 89 seats.
Phase 3: Voting on May 7 for 94 seats.
Phase 4: Polling on May 13 for 96 seats.
Phase 5: Voting on May 20 for 49 seats.
Phase 6: Polling on May 25 for 57 seats.
Phase 7: Final voting on June 1 for 57 seats.
The voting dates for the seats in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi have been announced. In Delhi, voting will take place in a single phase on May 25th.
The Lok Sabha election for all 25 seats in Rajasthan will be conducted in 2 phases. Voting will take place on April 19th and April 26th. In the first phase, voting will be held for 12 Lok Sabha seats, while in the second phase, voting will be conducted for 13 seats.
Voting in Maharashtra will take place in 5 phases. Voting will be held on April 19th, April 26th, May 7th, May 13th, and May 20th. A total of 48 seats will be contested in the state.
Elections in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted in 4 phases for its 29 seats. In the first phase on April 19th, voting will take place for 6 seats. Following this, on April 26th, 7 seats will be contested, followed by 8 seats on May 7th, and the remaining 8 seats on May 13th. Similar to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, MP will witness elections in 4 phases.
