Renowned singer Anuradha Paudwal has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday. She arrived at the Delhi BJP office around 1:15 PM and formally became a party member.

Anuradha Paudwal's induction into the BJP comes at a time when the country is gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Election Commission is expected to announce the dates for Lok Sabha elections and some state assembly elections later today.

After joining the BJP, Anuradha Paudwal said, "I am happy to be joining today the people with deep connections to Sanatana. I have also sung devotional songs in the film industry. When the foundation of Ram Lalla was laid, I got the opportunity to sing there, it is my privilege."

Who is Anuradha Paudwal?

Anuradha Paudwal is a popular singer known for her devotional songs. She reached the pinnacle of popularity in the 1990s with her devotional singing. She is currently 69 years old.

She married Arun Paudwal in the year 1969, who was an assistant to S.D. Burman and a music composer. They have two children, a son named Aditya and a daughter named Kavita. Unfortunately, their son passed away a few years ago. Anuradha Paudwal's husband passed away in 1991.

Opposition Forms 'INDIA' Alliance to Take on NDA in Lok Sabha Elections

This time, opposition parties have formed the' INDIA' coalition to challenge the leadership of the BJP-led NDA in the Lok Sabha elections.

This coalition comprises more than two dozen opposition parties, whereas the NDA has the support of nearly 40 parties. Currently, the NDA has over 350 MPs, while the INDIA bloc has approximately 150 MPs.

However, the INDIA bloc has faced setbacks in several states as some regional parties have opted to contest independently. For instance, Mamata Banerjee's TMC is part of the INDIA bloc, but it is contesting all 42 seats in West Bengal independently.
