Covid-19 Update: According to the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 7,830 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the highest in 223 days. The active cases in the country have now crossed the 40,000 mark with 40,215 cases reported.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.65%, while the weekly positivity rate was logged at 3.83%, as per data on the health ministry website.

Covid-19 Update: 16 new fatalities reported

According to the latest data updated at 8 am, the death toll due to Covid-19 in India has risen to 5,31,016, with 16 new fatalities reported.

Out of these, two each were reported in Delhi, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, and one each in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, while Kerala reconciled five.

Last year on September 1, India recorded a spike of 7,946 new COVID-19 cases in a single day. Presently, active cases account for 0.09% of total infections, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been reported at 98.72%.

As per the latest data on the health ministry's website, 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever or Chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Loss of smell or taste

  • Diarrhea

  • Sore Throat

  • Vomiting

It's important to note that some people with COVID-19 may not experience any symptoms at all, while others may have severe symptoms that require hospitalization.
