Bathinda Military Station Firing: An incident of firing has been reported inside Bathinda military station in Punjab, resulting in the loss of four lives.
Following the incident, the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) was mobilized, and the entire area has been cordoned off and sealed.
The search operation is currently underway. Reports suggest that the assailant who carried out the firing was dressed in plain clothes.
As per the latest updates, the four deceased individuals are reportedly from the 80 Medium Regiment, and the firing incident occurred inside the officers' mess.
According to the sources, a few days prior to the incident, an INSAS assault rifle went missing from the guard room of the unit.
Efforts are currently underway to locate the one who is believed to have stolen a weapon and is responsible for the recent firing incident.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Bathinda has ruled out the possibility of a terror attack and instead described the incident as a result of a mutual confrontation.
As per the sources, the police is currently facing restrictions to enter the military station, where the incident occurred. However, they are attempting to gain access into the premises.
Fresh information suggests that the incident occurred inside the officers' mess at 4:35 am, leading to speculations of a potential altercation between military officers.
