
Covid-19 Update: On Tuesday (April 11), India reported a marginal decline in the number of new Covid-19 cases with 5,676 fresh infections recorded, as compared to the previous day's tally of 5,880 cases.
The health ministry data revealed that the number of active infections currently stands at 37,093.
The recovery rate has reached 98.74 per cent with a total of 44,200,079 people having recovered.
In the past 24 hours, India has recorded 21 Covid-related deaths, taking the total death toll to 5,31,000.
The latest update at 8 am showed that three Covid-related deaths were reported in Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan each, followed by two in Karnataka and one each in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. Additionally, Kerala reconciled six previous deaths. The current fatality rate stands at 1.19 per cent.
The Ministry of Health has reported that the nationwide vaccination drive has administered over 2.2 billion doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, with 358 doses given in the past 24 hours.
