China released the 2023 version of its standard version

On Monday, China released the 2023 version of its standard version, striking a claim to several disputed foreign territories. This map is compiled based on the drawing method of national boundaries of China and various countries in the world

The Chinese state-run Global Times stated, Aksai Chin which was occupied by China in the 1962 war with India and the Arunachal Pradesh state, which China claims as south Tibet are claimed by China from the Indian territory while Taiwan which claims itself as a sovereign nation is also included in the map along with the nine-dash line, PTI reported.

Reactions to the Chinese Provocation

Congress MP Manish Tiwari pointed out the absurdity and preposterousness of Chinese claims and questioned if the central government of India should ‘fete’ Chinese claims in the ongoing G20 summit.

He also mentioned that in recent years, Chinese troops have crossed the Line of Actual Control at multiple strategic points and they are at least around 2000 square kilometres inside the Indian territory and the urgent requirement to vacate these territories.

He also questioned, whether it would be in accordance with India’s self-respect to attend Xi Jinping, who is in illegal occupation of over 2000 square kilometres of Indian land along the LAC.

The Shiv Sena MP, Sanjay Raut took a dig at Prime Minister Modi, asking if the Union Government is planning a surgical strike on China. He also mentioned that Rahul Gandhi was correct when he said that China has transgressed in Ladakh.

China is trying to enter Arunachal Pradesh too, and if you have guts plan a surgical strike on China, Sanjay Raut told PTI.
